hi brian--great question. it's really going to depend on your personal touch and taste, but an old, properly serviced deluxe reverb, or princeton reverb for tone will be tough to beat. there are very few great tones that you can't get from these, but also a dumble sounds amazing as well as victoria amps. there are many newer boutique type amps i'm not that familiar with that may sound amazing, but sometimes it's hard to go wrong with the basics--thanks, brent...
