: Hi Brent!

: You mentioned that you use 2 PCM42s for separate L/R delay.

: How do you set your delays up typically? For rhythmn sounds....for lead sounds....delay times, number of repeats, etc....

: You mentioned that you don't use reverb.....so do you prefer to use, say a 450 ms delay with 3 repeats to simulate a reverb effect?...

: I'm trying to program my own sounds and I like your sounds alot.....so I though I would ask you directly! :)

: Thanks!!

: : Hi Brent!

: : I'm a big fanm of your playing and I found your web site recently.

: : I noticed that you use 2 Lexicon PCM42s for your delays. Michael Landau does the same thing. Why is that? Is there something significant that makes these units sound better than the new digital delays?....or is it that there are no menus to scroll through when setting up your sound??

: : Do the PCM41s sound the same??....I noticed that they are not quite as fexible when setting delay times, but they are ALOT cheaper!! :)

: : Do you typicaly use reverb on your guitar, or do you go more for some delay/ambience instead? DO you have any particular settings you'd like to share?

: : Thanks alot for your help! Love your playing and sounds! :)

hi ian---for the most part, i split the 42's left and right---the longer the delay time, the fewer repeats, as i don't want to cloud the sound too much---a lot of times, i'll use a quarter note delay on the left, and a division of that on the right---depending whether it's a shuffle or straight 8 feel for the song--another delay use is the 75---140 bpm settings up the middle for that country chicken pickin' type of echoplex slapback----thanks, brent...
