hey joe, i haven't heard one of the new vht power amps you mentioned--i have the older ones, but i'm sure the new ones are awesome as well. the preamps i have favored the most are the soldano, the cae, the bogner fish, and the mesa boogie studio pre--these all work well in a rack situation. the gp-3 i'm not familiar with, and the psa-1 works better for me going straight into a power amp--and possibly into the board, but not going to a stereo spread--it sounded too grainy to me in that application---thanks, brent...
